Justcroft International are pleased to announce JustCGM 4.2.06, a new release of the product suite for viewing, converting, editing and plotting image files. This update is available free of charge to all customers that have a current support and maintenance agreement in place. JustCGM 4.2.06 now includes a CGM Editing tool called JustEdit.

JustEdit has been built for Windows, Solaris and Linux using the QT library, so it is possible to have the same Graphical User Interface on the three different platforms. It is bundled at no extra charge with the JustMontage module and is also available for purchase separately. Existing users currently using JustMontage will require a new licence in order to active this module. Please email us at support@justcroft.com and we will send through a new licence to get you up and running.

JustCGM 4.2.06 also includes the following changes and enhancements:

JustEdit

Many of the features within JustEdit have been developed following requests from our customers who were not totally happy with their current CGM Editor. As a result, the following special functionality has been included:

• Insert: Insert Line, Poly Line, Free Line, Polygon and Text.
• Smooth: Smooth a line by adding more vertices.
• Find and Replace: Replace all Objects fitting the specified parameters. The "multiple-filter-then-replace" design is very powerful and much better than other CGM Editors which work only on ALL lines or ALL text, for example.
• Close Gaps: Close the gaps between lines.
• Cut Line: Delete part of a selected line.
• Split Line: Split a selected line into two parts.
• Edit Points: Edit points from a line or polygon.
• Transparency: Create a polygon with a transparent fill.

CGM Interpretation

• Improved text anti–aliasing.
• CGM PIP/I extensions now also supported with clear text encoded CGMs.

Input File Converter

• Many improvements and fixes for EMF, WMF and BMP conversion.
• There is a new EMF to CGM conversion option to allow the scale of patterns to be based on screen resolution instead of the device. This is a workaround for Petrel 2007.1.

CGM Optimiser

• Protection Region Emulation can now be specified in both optimise mode and in filter mode.
• Two new options Vertical Text Alignment Emulation and Text Path Left Emulation to help with possible text shift problems in CorelDRAW.

Printing

• Added 38 additional Canon PostScript printers.
• Added support for Epson Stylus 9400 and Stylus 9800 roll plotters, HP Designjet 70 and 90, iSys iTerra IJ1800
• It is now possible to repeat an image on a roll–plotter when using the JustPlot preconfigured Drivers.

Batch Processor

• Facility to merge PDFs into a single multi–page PDF.

User Interface

• Conversion of non–CGM formats to CGM are now logged by the JustCGM User Interface. Select View > Log File from the menu bar to see the logged information. In addition the EMF to CGM conversion now logs more information.
• The Preferences dialog box has additional options to control the creation of bitmap CGMs. These are placed under the CGM tab. The original options of the CGM tab are now under the General tab.
• Automatic TIFF image rotation can now be controlled through the preference dialog box as well.
