What Does It Offer?
JustMontage is Justcroft International's simple, friendly and easy-to-use composer application.
JustMontage is part of the JustCGM for Windows program suite and is part of the JustCGM for Windows installation.
JustMontage is based on Open Standards including CGM and XML.
JustMontage provides simple composition functionality to allow the presentation of CGM images in combination with graphical shapes on a single output surface (canvas). A GUI allows the user to create the presentation in a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) environment.
The composition can be created as a single CGM file suitable for plotting, rendering to a bitmap form or importing into other graphics packages.
JustMontage can translate raster or vector data into CGM so that it can be imported into the composition.
JustMontage preserves the CGM seismic extensions in the resulting composition CGM.
JustMontage is supported on Windows NT 4.0 (Intel; service pack 6a), Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003.
Technical Details
The JustMontage application can be divided into the following functional modules:
- A graphical user interface.
- A batch composition tool.
There are two reasons why the JustMontage application has been divided into these two modules:
- Flexibility. For example, a user might need to generate a specific set of CGMs using an automated process.
- Portability. Generally, graphical user interfaces have to be written in a highly non-portable way. However, the structure of the JustMontage application allows a clear and logical separation between non-portable code (e.g. the JustMontage GUI) and the portable code (e.g. the batch composer tool).
The composition file is used for two purposes:
- It provides the information needed by the JustMontage GUI to store and recreate the composition the user is working on.
- It provides the information used by the batch composer tool to create the montage CGM.
The composition file is a simple
XML format based file whose structure is based on the Scalable Vector Graphics© (SVG) standard of the W3C®.
